4

:

in this back to school season.

tips for working parents.

A fast growing number of parents are

others have been homeschooling for years.

14

All of these parents are asking one big

23

25

:

life on your own terms and make your

homeschooling experience a lot more fun?

:

Well then sit back, crank up

the volume, and enjoy this

27

:

episode of Homeschool Money.

28

:

Hey, it's Crystal Obby, and I'm Anthony

Obby, and we are so excited to talk

29

:

today about Back to School Balance,

homeschooling Tips for Working Parents.

30

:

One of the big things we find in the Back

to School season is everyone is trying

31

:

to figure out how to get it all done.

32

:

Especially whenever you are trying to

have an amazing school year for your

33

:

kids, and then you're also trying

to do a great job at your work while

34

:

taking care of yourself and making

sure your home is running properly.

35

:

It can be really exciting

as well as overwhelming.

36

:

And so we are here to make sure that

you have the support that you need

37

:

to make sure that all of your goals,

not just your kids' goals and back to

38

:

school, gets handled in this school year.

39

:

Yeah, I think, you know.

40

:

The summertime, you look forward to

it, you anticipate it, and then it's

41

:

here, and then it's like it's gone.

42

:

And it feels like it's so fast.

43

:

As homeschoolers, we get to enjoy

more, I think of the summertime.

44

:

Yeah.

45

:

Because we start school

really around Labor Day.

46

:

That's so that little bit of period

before between when the public school and

47

:

private school kids go back to school.

48

:

Yeah.

49

:

And then till Labor Day, we're like

really enjoying the shorter lines.

50

:

Mm-hmm.

51

:

And the lighter crowds and everything.

52

:

Yeah.

53

:

So it's kind of like a little.

54

:

Fun time that we all celebrate.

55

:

Yeah, so it does feel better as

a homeschooling family, but still

56

:

it's a discipline to teach yourself.

57

:

To think about your year in two years,

like 20, 25, does not have to just

58

:

be one year in terms of your goal

achievement and how much you're able to

59

:

accomplish in your business or in your

career, or in your personal finances.

60

:

That's what we talk about

here at Homeschool Money.

61

:

And so it, it doesn't have to be just

a matter of just now that it's back

62

:

to school, that you throw off all of

you and forget about your priorities

63

:

in terms of your personal finances

and your, your business, your career.

64

:

Because that is essential to being able

to maintain your homeschool and be able

65

:

to create financial abundance so that

you can have more time to actually devote

66

:

to homeschooling and homeschooling well.

67

:

And so at Homeschool Money, we want

to talk about this topic of how to

68

:

balance your, your work career goals,

and being able to achieve and receive

69

:

more, harvest, more income out of your

skillset, while at the same time helping

70

:

your kids get back to homeschooling

and achieve their goals and learn the

71

:

things that they should be learning

and continue to grow and develop in the

72

:

ways that they should grow and develop.

73

:

For this, for this homeschool season.

74

:

But if you do it well, and Crystal, you,

you're really good at this for our family.

75

:

Like you've got the kids doing SOPs

for everything, and you, you, you

76

:

have our whole family on a very strict

not a very strict, but a really good,

77

:

I would say, calendar of events and

that you keep up to date and you're

78

:

teaching them how to manage their time.

79

:

And the kids how to you're teaching

the kids how to set goals and how

80

:

to manage their time really well.

81

:

So I think that you're gonna be a, a

great person to talk about this topic.

82

:

And you raised this as a topic because

you know that it's possible to live two

83

:

years in one if you plan your time well.

84

:

Yeah.

85

:

'cause you want to go into fall

with strategy and expectations.

86

:

That let you thrive and not end up

overwhelmed and burnt out because

87

:

it's so exciting, you know, whenever

all the back to school supplies, you

88

:

know, get back at the store, you know?

89

:

Mm-hmm.

90

:

People like me, I'm

like, oh, I can't wait.

91

:

How many notepads do we need?

92

:

Yeah.

93

:

Pens, do we need all, I love it.

94

:

And all that stuff.

95

:

And so it's super exciting.

96

:

And then you have all these new activities

and events and just, it's just like

97

:

all this really amazing excitement

and you start signing up for stuff and

98

:

it's like, oh yeah, we wanna make it.

99

:

Oh yeah, we wanna make it.

100

:

And what we know from the years of

homeschooling is how you're operating here

101

:

in the, you know, August and September.

102

:

It's really gonna dictate

how your spring ends up.

103

:

Mm-hmm.

104

:

And how you go, how you went through

the holidays, and then how you.

105

:

Feel at the end of the

school year next summer.

106

:

Yeah.

107

:

And so if you wanna set yourself

up for success you know, later,

108

:

then you wanna make sure to manage

your time appropriately right now.

109

:

And so, 'cause you know, after

back to school, we're gonna

110

:

go right into the holidays.

111

:

Right.

112

:

And the holidays are whole, our

whole nother beast in themselves.

113

:

Yeah.

114

:

So this high that we're on right

now for back to school, we're gonna

115

:

have a little low after, you know,

school starts and then it's gonna

116

:

be ramped back up for the holidays.

117

:

And so that makes a huge difference.

118

:

And then after the holidays,

you're gonna go into January and

119

:

that's whenever you need rest.

120

:

But if you have not made a lot of

progress on your personal goals, you

121

:

can feel really like discouraged.

122

:

Mm-hmm.

123

:

Because you're like, well, I got the

kids back to school, went through

124

:

the holidays, but I didn't do what

I wanted to do this past year.

125

:

Right.

126

:

And so you have to, you start feeling

like, well, this is gonna be another year

127

:

that I can put in on my goals, but so at

the same time, you're discouraged 'cause

128

:

you didn't do something you feel like.

129

:

You need to put all this extra energy

in to the new year, but you're tired.

130

:

Yeah, because you just

came off the holidays.

131

:

You just came off of back

to school after the summer.

132

:

And so you see this endless cycle

every year whenever you have kids

133

:

and whenever you're homeschool.

134

:

So that's why it makes a difference

of how you're managing it now.

135

:

And there's this thing called.

136

:

It's like the, the homeschool slump.

137

:

Mm-hmm.

138

:

And it's always in like February.

139

:

Mm-hmm.

140

:

And so whenever you've been

homeschooling for a while, you find

141

:

out that you kind of crash in February,

like nobody's motivated anymore.

142

:

Nobody really wants to do anything

unless you've maintained your energy.

143

:

And it all starts from back here.

144

:

And you know, since my birthday

is in February, I want everybody

145

:

to have lots of energy.

146

:

So I wanna help people right now start

their year off really, really well.

147

:

And so how you start your school

year will really impact your energy

148

:

and opportunities all year long.

149

:

So we have eight tips to help

you be successful in your work,

150

:

your home, and your homeschooled.

151

:

This is exciting.

152

:

I can't wait to hear.

153

:

Hey, real quick, if you're liking the

154

156

:

This will help more people find

the show, and please share this

157

:

episode with a friend, your

co-op, or anyone who needs it.

158

:

They'll be glad you did.

159

:

Now, back to the show.

160

:

So the tip number one is you

wanna have a vision, and so

161

:

that's one of my favorite times.

162

:

I love whenever we're able to sit

down and have a vision meeting.

163

:

So having a vision, meeting with

your spouse, a vision, meeting with

164

:

your, you know, your kids, and a

vision meeting just with yourself.

165

:

Just sitting down and making

sure you know, what do you

166

:

want this year to look like?

167

:

And just having some time

to really just consider it.

168

:

Consider what happened last year,

consider what your friends are

169

:

talking about and just consider what's

before you and just have a top, an

170

:

opportunity to really think about

where you wanna be this time next year.

171

:

And so the best thing I like to do is say.

172

:

You know, do the, the process

of the start, stop, and keep.

173

:

And so it's really simple, it's really

clear and it's really effective.

174

:

And so you just say, what

do I wanna start doing?

175

:

That would be super beneficial.

176

:

And just one thing, if I did this one

thing, if I started doing this one thing,

177

:

it would get me to where I'm trying to go.

178

:

And then what do I wanna stop doing?

179

:

This gives you an opportunity

to say, Hey, this didn't work.

180

:

Maybe it served me in this last season,

but it's not gonna serve me in the

181

:

next season, and I need to stop it.

182

:

And there always needs to be

something that you stop because

183

:

you need to make room for the new.

184

:

And so you can't keep adding

on commitments and not ever

185

:

get rid of something because

you'll become overwhelmed.

186

:

And then the next thing is the key.

187

:

So there may be something that you

signed up for last year and it's like,

188

:

you know what, this was really working.

189

:

Let's keep doing this.

190

:

So let's keep doing this as a foundation.

191

:

Let's start this new opportunity and

then let's stop doing this other thing.

192

:

And that right there is what's

gonna help you make sure to get

193

:

your vision and not be overwhelmed

at the end of the school year.

194

:

Yeah.

195

:

You have helped us utilize the

start, stop, keep method in our.

196

:

Personal goals and, and not

just personal goals, but in all

197

:

the categories of our lives.

198

:

You know, I think we've broken

down, we've broken it down into

199

:

like 11 or 12 different areas.

200

:

It's like between 11 and

13, depending on a year.

201

:

Yeah.

202

:

Because we're not having

kids anymore, right?

203

:

Yeah.

204

:

So no, no more start on that.

205

:

No more start.

206

:

That's stop.

207

:

Stop.

208

:

First stop.

209

:

But yeah.

210

:

So yeah, anywhere between 11 and

12 different aspects of our life.

211

:

This.

212

:

That's a lot, right?

213

:

That 11 to 13 aspects of

your life, my goodness.

214

:

And so the start, stop, keep method

has been a way to sort of simplify

215

:

setting goals and just addressing

each of those areas of our life.

216

:

And you've always utilized

that as something, as a,

217

:

as a framework, as a tool.

218

:

The, to help us to keep on track with

our goals in all of the aspects of

219

:

our life, whether it be our personal

fitness goals, whether it be our,

220

:

you know, our, our, our spiritual you

know, goals and connection with God.

221

:

Whether it be, you know, our time in

nature, our vacations and just fun time

222

:

and activities and that type of thing.

223

:

Date night.

224

:

And all it def most definitely our

financial goals and our career goals.

225

:

And so start, start, keep has

been a great tool to utilize.

226

:

And so seeing yourself breaking your

year, your 20, 25 year up into at

227

:

least two years, we try to do this

quarterly, but this is the perfect time.

228

:

Back to school.

229

:

Back to homeschool is the perfect time

to break that year down into another.

230

:

See this as a whole new year and a whole

new opportunity to, to, to get to where

231

:

you want to before the end of the year.

232

:

And you're going to be so much

more motivated and energized as

233

:

you glide into the holiday season.

234

:

And as you glide into Christmas

time and especially the new year,

235

:

you're gonna feel empowered instead

of like a, you know, like a fraud.

236

:

You're not, you're not

gonna feel like that.

237

:

Going to the, into the new year setting

unrealistic goals that you don't even

238

:

keep past two weeks in 2026, you're

gonna feel motivated, energized, and

239

:

you're gonna have momentum if you take

the time now to, as Crystal said, set

240

:

vision for what you want to achieve.

241

:

Set your intentions, re gain new clarity.

242

:

And get before God and gain new clarity

for what you want to achieve this year

243

:

in every aspect of your life, and write

something down that you want to achieve,

244

:

what you wanna start, what you want

to stop, and what you want to keep.

245

:

Yeah.

246

:

And that takes us right to our

number two tip, which is consider

247

:

the opportunities that come up.

248

:

And so what we've seen is, especially

as homeschooling has become more

249

:

popular, you know, when we started.

250

:

There were a lot less opportunities,

but it was still way more than, you

251

:

know, in other areas of the country.

252

:

But it has really exploded now.

253

:

So there are so many things that

you can do to fill up your schedule,

254

:

and they all sound amazing.

255

:

And so if you don't have really

good clarity about where you're

256

:

trying to go, you could sign up.

257

:

Like for an example, if you sign

up for a co-op and it's, you

258

:

know, we're in, in, you know.

259

:

In DFW, if you sign up on the other side

of DFW for a co-op, you have a lot of

260

:

drive time and a lot of sitting time.

261

:

And so that burns a lot of time.

262

:

You may sometimes want to sign up for a

co-op that's on another part of town, but

263

:

maybe you wanna stack that time stack that

trip with some other things, visiting some

264

:

other friends, doing some other errands.

265

:

And so if you have your goals in order,

you can plan those kind of things.

266

:

But if you mess around and sign up.

267

:

For a co-op that's all

the way across town.

268

:

You can end up spending your

whole day wasted, just trying

269

:

to get to a two hour event.

270

:

And so thinking about the opportunities

that you have available and how they

271

:

align with your goals and how they

align with all the other things that

272

:

you want to do, which you know makes

a huge difference, that will let you

273

:

see what's really an opportunity.

274

:

'cause everything that sounds

fun, or everything that sounds

275

:

interesting or helpful may not be

an opportunity, and that's why it's

276

:

so important to really know what.

277

:

Capacity you have and what opportunities

you really are looking for.

278

:

I absolutely love that framework and I'm,

I'm, I'm so glad that you mentioned it.

279

:

You know, so many times our eyes

are bigger than our actual, you

280

:

know, our actual stomach, you know,

just like with eating, you know?

281

:

But it, it is so true that we

want the best for our kids.

282

:

Mm-hmm.

283

:

So yeah, we want to sign 'em

up for this and for that, but.

284

:

Some things may just completely

be out of the budget and not

285

:

really make sense financially.

286

:

You know, I remember just coming from a

homeschool conference a few months ago

287

:

and you know, talking with some folks

about a particular activity and yeah.

288

:

If FOMO kicks in, you know,

yeah, I don't want, I don't want

289

:

my kids to miss out on that.

290

:

But you already knew about that

particular opportunity and you were like.

291

:

You mentioned the cost of it and

also the time that it would take.

292

:

And you also mentioned the location

of it, and it was just like, oh, wow.

293

:

Shut that door real quick.

294

:

It right on real quick.

295

:

Oh.

296

:

Brought it, brought it all

into perspective real fast.

297

:

I can't wait.

298

:

You said that because number three.

299

:

Is decide what trade offs

you're willing to make.

300

:

Mm-hmm.

301

:

And so, yeah.

302

:

You got a trade off.

303

:

Yeah.

304

:

Yeah.

305

:

Because I remember what you were

talking about because we were

306

:

talking to that person about this

opportunity and it sounds amazing.

307

:

Yeah.

308

:

You know, like, oh, we get to our

kids, get to do this and that.

309

:

But then I was like,

okay, you wanna trade off?

310

:

You know, this time you wanna

trade off this money, you

311

:

wanna trade off this attention.

312

:

Right.

313

:

You know, we got five kids.

314

:

Yeah.

315

:

So that's just one.

316

:

That's one.

317

:

That's just one kid.

318

:

That's one kid.

319

:

Yeah.

320

:

So when you line up, what

are you willing to trade?

321

:

You, you say this year your focus

is gonna be all about rest and

322

:

connecting as a family and you

know, Sabbath thing and all that.

323

:

Well, are you willing to trade that off

and sign up for all these ACT activities?

324

:

Yeah.

325

:

Don't let those squirrels come

along and get the best of you.

326

:

Yep.

327

:

Or you say, this year, kinda like this

year, we have a lot of social, like

328

:

this is kind of like a fun year for us.

329

:

We have, you know, it's like making.

330

:

Making new friends getting out a lot.

331

:

'cause you know, you know,

the baby's are older now.

332

:

I can get out and about more.

333

:

We're gonna meet lots of new people.

334

:

Mm-hmm.

335

:

Excited about that.

336

:

So we have to trade

some of that home time.

337

:

Mm-hmm.

338

:

You know, so we're gonna

be out a little bit more.

339

:

We're gonna have to learn how

to get stuff done in the car.

340

:

We're gonna have to be okay

with a little bit more traffic.

341

:

Mm-hmm.

342

:

We will not be able to complain that

we maybe have to get up a little

343

:

earlier, or we have to, you know, eat

a little later or something like that.

344

:

We have to get more organized and

to be able to take that opportunity.

345

:

And so.

346

:

Everything comes with a trade off.

347

:

And as long as you know what the trade

off is, you can still do everything,

348

:

you know, still being encouraged,

not complaining, and you can take

349

:

whatever's thrown at you with that.

350

:

That's right.

351

:

Count the cost before you.

352

:

Yes.

353

:

Count the cost.

354

:

That's right.

355

:

Absolutely.

356

:

Hey, friend, quick break.

367

:

for hundreds of other families too.

368

:

Go to homeschool money.com

369

:

to register and watch the free

class on demand and get our

370

:

newsletter full of tips and support.

371

:

Don't wait.

372

:

Your freedom starts right now.

373

:

And so number four is you need to update

your operating systems and you need to

374

:

have an operating system for your work.

375

:

For your school, for your

home, and for yourself.

376

:

And that's what you were

talking about earlier.

377

:

So this summer we have updated our

SOPs, standard operating procedures for

378

:

how we do a lot of the things in the

house, like how we get dinner ready,

379

:

how we leave the house, how we get ready

for bed, how we get up in the morning

380

:

the, the time blocking that we do.

381

:

During, out the, the, during the day so

that we can make sure that everything

382

:

gets done, everything ends up where

it needs to be, and everybody is on

383

:

the same page of what the priority

is because that has hap By doing

384

:

that, we eliminate the conversation

of, Hey, is the, is the house clean?

385

:

Mm-hmm.

386

:

Well, how, how do we know it's clean?

387

:

Well, the kids made a list of what it

takes to get it clean to our standards

388

:

and be able to turn in and say it's clean.

389

:

So they listed it out.

390

:

So all I have to do is

say, Hey, is it clean?

391

:

Checked off, and sign your initial.

392

:

That says that it's clean and

you're gonna approve that.

393

:

And so if they say, this is the

10 things that need to happen

394

:

for the house to be clean.

395

:

And they know exactly what

to do, clear expectations.

396

:

And so that way we are not

fussing with the kids, you know?

397

:

Yeah.

398

:

We're not, we're not saying,

Hey, it's time to go.

399

:

Is everybody ready to go?

400

:

Yeah.

401

:

It, it eliminates all that.

402

:

Did everybody put on deodorant?

403

:

Did everybody brush their hair?

404

:

Did everybody get their shoes?

405

:

Do you have everything?

406

:

Yeah.

407

:

So all these conversations,

we, we had a whole meeting.

408

:

Where we did some pre-thinking and

said, Hey, what can we do to make

409

:

this house run better so we can get

seven humans out of here on time?

410

:

Because we all want to be on time

and we all wanna do a lot of things.

411

:

Guys, I don't know if you noticed

this, but Crystal is running this

412

:

household like a Fortune 500.

413

:

Okay.

414

:

She's talking about SOPs for literally

how, how we get up in the morning.

415

:

And just before you get to thinking that,

oh man, that sounds too mechanical for me.

416

:

That sounds like she's a drill sergeant.

417

:

That sounds extremely boring

or anything like that.

418

:

No, that's the absolute opposite.

419

:

The, the, let's take the

morning routine, for instance.

420

:

That's an opportunity for you to

inject happiness, for you to inject

421

:

joy, for you to set everybody off on

the right foot and for you to really.

422

:

Cultivate the sort of children shape, the,

the way that children see getting up and

423

:

shape the way that they see morning time.

424

:

You can really shape that

to be a wonderful time.

425

:

And I just, Chris, I just love

what, absolutely love what you have

426

:

done with the morning routine and

then getting up in the morning.

427

:

SOP.

428

:

Because you have injected, okay,

everybody wake up and then number

429

:

two have dance party, right?

430

:

Yep.

431

:

So she, you got the playlist, she's

got a playlist, a wake up playlist.

432

:

Wake up playlist.

433

:

She's got Forrest Frank.

434

:

I'm gonna have a good day.

435

:

Yeah.

436

:

In there and some other great

songs that you wanna wake up to.

437

:

And that set everybody off in a good mood.

438

:

And every time this particular song

comes on, the whole family does a does

439

:

dance moves to it that everybody knows.

440

:

And that's how you have the

kids waking up in the morning.

441

:

And that is wonderful.

442

:

That's beautiful.

443

:

And that, that, that

shapes their childhood.

444

:

It shapes how they're going to see waking

up in the morning as they get older.

445

:

It's not gonna be a drag,

it's not gonna be like.

446

:

Oh, mom, I can't stand you, mom.

447

:

It's not, you know, it's not any of that.

448

:

It's gonna be, I'm gonna have a good day.

449

:

Yeah.

450

:

This is great.

451

:

Yeah.

452

:

And so I really love what

you've done with that.

453

:

And so that's what you could do with SOPs.

454

:

Standard operating procedures is you

can inject joy and happiness and the

455

:

create shape, the kind of culture

and the kind of childhood that you

456

:

want for your homeschool children.

457

:

And that's what you get an opportunity

to do as a homeschooling parent.

458

:

So seize that moment.

459

:

Yeah.

460

:

'cause like, like when

we go to bed mm-hmm.

461

:

The kids said they like having about 20

minutes to read before they go to bed.

462

:

Mm-hmm.

463

:

They also like to spend about five

minutes writing quickly in their journal.

464

:

Yeah.

465

:

So it's like, okay, so y'all

need 25 minutes for that.

466

:

You also need to brush

your teeth and all that.

467

:

So you just work backwards.

468

:

Yeah.

469

:

So whenever you say, Hey,

it's time to go to bed.

470

:

We start, we say bedtime starts

whenever it's the bedtime routine.

471

:

Mm-hmm.

472

:

So that way they have

everything that they wanted.

473

:

And it's not like, Hey, hurry up

and get to bed, or, Hey, turn off

474

:

the lights and things like that.

475

:

We talk about what we

want the day to look like.

476

:

Yeah.

477

:

Like what it, what does it take

to have a nice lunch together?

478

:

What does it take to go to bed peacefully

and, and what does it take to have

479

:

a, a morning that makes the day fun?

480

:

And so we in, you know, install

all those things into our

481

:

schedule so they're expected.

482

:

And so it's just a lot more fun.

483

:

Yeah.

484

:

But it's also very organized so

that everybody feels successful

485

:

starting off in the day.

486

:

Yeah.

487

:

And so I, it is just really fun for me.

488

:

And so that's some, that's

some high level parenting.

489

:

Yeah.

490

:

Alright, that's cool.

491

:

Step number five is plan for margin.

492

:

And so one thing I noticed with a lot of

parents is we get back to, into the back

493

:

to school and it's like, okay, we have

this new curriculum, we have this new.

494

:

Schedule.

495

:

We have all these new activities,

but we forget that Christmas is

496

:

coming and Thanksgiving is coming,

or you know, the flu is coming.

497

:

All these different things,

and you have to remember there.

498

:

You're not gonna be able to achieve

all the same amount of things

499

:

when it comes to Christmas time.

500

:

You're, you're gonna have to

take some time off and everybody

501

:

else that you're working with,

everything's gonna slow down.

502

:

And so you need to plan for that.

503

:

And you need to have the expectation set

to where you know, when you can run hard

504

:

and, and whenever you're gonna have to be

like at half speed on achieving things,

505

:

especially like if you have multiple kids.

506

:

And then what happens

if there's a sick day?

507

:

What happens if you need to take

some time off and be able to.

508

:

Just have a little bit of margin.

509

:

Mm-hmm.

510

:

So you just need to plan for that.

511

:

Okay.

512

:

And not be over ambitious.

513

:

Yeah.

514

:

In in the goal setting Yeah.

515

:

And everything.

516

:

Yeah.

517

:

And so number six is remember that

balance is not about equal attention,

518

:

it's about appropriate attention.

519

:

Mm-hmm.

520

:

And so, yeah.

521

:

Big thing is like, especially

when you, when you work Yeah.

522

:

You have that guilt.

523

:

So you have the mom guilt

or the, the, the dad guilt.

524

:

So whenever, what that means is

whenever you're working, you feel like

525

:

you really should be with the kids.

526

:

And then whenever you're with the kids,

you feel like you should be working.

527

:

'cause you're like, well I need this

money to be able to take care of the kids.

528

:

And you're like, I should.

529

:

And you know how the kids are

when you're trying to work.

530

:

They come in, they wanna show

you everything, especially

531

:

whenever you work from home.

532

:

And so you don't want, you wanna

have an open door, but it kind

533

:

of needs to be closed sometime.

534

:

Mm-hmm.

535

:

And so it's like balancing that.

536

:

And so whenever you know, Hey, I

need this much time to get this work

537

:

done so this family can be supported.

538

:

Then everybody can be on the same page

about that and they can, the kids can

539

:

work with you to protect that time because

they know, hey, this is part of what

540

:

this family needs in order to make it.

541

:

Yeah.

542

:

And so, but whenever you're with the

kids, if you're fully present with them,

543

:

then they know that you, they have your

full heart and their attention, and so

544

:

they can go on ahead and everybody can

be, you know, doing what they need to do.

545

:

And it doesn't have to be.

546

:

Well, I need to spend five hours

with the kids and five hours working.

547

:

Mm-hmm.

548

:

It's not about that.

549

:

It's just about what is appropriate

that your 3-year-old needs.

550

:

Mm-hmm.

551

:

What does your 13-year-old need

and what does your work need?

552

:

And so you need to just make sure

that you know what is necessary

553

:

for each priority in your life.

554

:

Taking time for yourself, making sure your

home is running properly, making sure your

555

:

work is being taken care of, and making

sure the kids have what they need as far

556

:

as parenting, as well as their education.

557

:

If you know what's necessary and you

plan for it, and you schedule it in,

558

:

you'll get everything that you need done.

559

:

And then number seven is you need

to decide that this is the season

560

:

that will be great, and you'll give

a hundred percent to the task that's

561

:

in front of you and all of your

ever efforts work together to create

562

:

the beautiful life that you want.

563

:

So it's not like, well, whenever

I'm educating the kids, that's

564

:

whenever I'm doing a great thing.

565

:

Well, you know, whenever

you're washing the dishes or.

566

:

Cleaning the house, doing the

laundry, that's also part of it.

567

:

Mm.

568

:

Or whenever you're working,

you're not just trying to just

569

:

homeschool or just manage your

home or just take care of yourself.

570

:

You're, you also do need to work

and you have to work in order to be

571

:

able to have all those other things.

572

:

And so you have to be

intentional in every area.

573

:

And by being intentional in every

area, you end up with a beautiful life.

574

:

Hey, I hope you're enjoying the show.

575

:

We'll get right back to the

discussion, but I do want to talk

576

:

high level with you real quick.

642

:

That's really a good point.

643

:

You know, you talked about

mom guilt, dad guilt.

644

:

And the, the, whenever you set your

goals for all these aspects of your

645

:

life, the 11, 12, 13, or whatever it

is for you, different aspects of your

646

:

life that really does address, that's

you giving yourself an opportunity to

647

:

have permission to give attention to

these different aspects of your life.

648

:

Whenever you only prioritize homeschooling

or, which is very important, right?

649

:

That's a, an extension of your

parenting is, and it's important for

650

:

your children to have an education when

you only prioritize work or, or just

651

:

only address two aspects of your life.

652

:

Well, there's all these other things that

you feel guilty about, these other things

653

:

that you feel neglectful about that relate

to you, but you don't, you don't feel like

654

:

a complete or like a whole human being.

655

:

And so.

656

:

By by, by addressing all of the aspects

of your life that are important to you

657

:

at this particular season of your life,

that is giving you the permission to

658

:

feel good and to feel present and in

the moment with whatever you're doing,

659

:

whether it be something as menial as

washing dishes or folding clothes.

660

:

Mm-hmm.

661

:

I think that's exactly the

word I was thinking about is.

662

:

The permission.

663

:

Mm.

664

:

Yeah.

665

:

Because people want, you know, you need

permission to say, whenever I'm working,

666

:

I am doing what's best for my family.

667

:

Whenever I'm homeschooling, I'm

doing what's best for my family.

668

:

Yeah.

669

:

And there's not anything

that's better than the other.

670

:

Right.

671

:

But they, but they all need to

be tended to, and that's why the

672

:

step number eight is we want you

to remember that you're not alone.

673

:

We want you to get your kids

involved in coming up with.

674

:

The priorities and the vision

we want you to reach out to us.

675

:

We want you to you know, remember that

we're all working on the same things.

676

:

We're all trying to figure out

how to make it all work, and

677

:

we're all in this together.

678

:

We're all trying to make sure that we

don't procrastinate on important things in

679

:

our life that would be, that we regret in

five years because we didn't tend to it.

680

:

We're trying to make sure to put

attention in every area that's important.

681

:

And that's why in our program, step

five in the Homeschool Money makeover

682

:

is all about how to get it done.

683

:

Yeah.

684

:

I mean, how do you get everything done?

685

:

Especially because whenever you have

different seasons, 'cause you, it's

686

:

different when you have a newborn,

it is different than when you just

687

:

have a, a teenager or whenever

you have a tween or whenever you

688

:

have a 20-year-old or something.

689

:

You know, college students

that you've homeschooled.

690

:

And so you wanna know

how to get it all done.

691

:

And so that's why we have step five.

692

:

Where we talk about how

to scale your business.

693

:

Mm-hmm.

694

:

So you can increase your money but

not have to increase your time.

695

:

How to, you know, you know,

scale your money and you do it by

696

:

investing and things like that.

697

:

Yeah.

698

:

And then also how to just scale your

life using systems and getting organized,

699

:

creating processes, creating rhythms, how

to outsource and even how to utilize ai.

700

:

Mm-hmm.

701

:

Because all of those things is

what's gonna make the difference.

702

:

We wanna make sure that

everyone is equipped.

703

:

To be able to have what they need,

to be able to have the success

704

:

they want in their home, in their

family, in their business, in their

705

:

money, and in their homeschooling.
