Forget everything you've been told
about entrepreneurship requiring 80
2
:hour work weeks away from your family.
3
:Today's affirmation reveals how
your homeschool lifestyle is
4
:actually the perfect foundation
for flexible wealth creation.
5
:Let's go.
6
:Intro: A fast growing number
of parents are starting their
7
:homeschooling journey while others
have been homeschooling for years.
8
:All of these parents are asking one big
question, how can I afford to homeschool?
9
:We are here to answer that
important question once and for all.
10
:Hi, I'm Crystal Obby.
11
:And I'm Anthony Obby.
12
:We've been homeschooling our five
kids for 13 years and we funded it.
13
:Through our online consulting business
that we've been running for over 17
14
:years now, we're combining Crystal's
financial coaching expertise with my
15
:digital marketing background where I help
entrepreneurs launch and sell online.
16
:We're here to help fellow homeschooling
parents self-fund their homeschool
17
:journey and create lifestyle businesses.
18
:For financial freedom without a nine to
five job, are you ready to start living
19
:life on your own terms and make your
homeschooling experience a lot more fun?
20
:Well then sit back, crank up
the volume, and enjoy this
21
:episode of Homeschool Money.
22
:Hey guys, so glad to have you on the show.
23
:Welcome to the Homeschool Money Podcast.
24
:I am your host, Anthony Obie.
25
:I'm Crystal Obie.
26
:Today we're talking about the affirmation
that goes, I am a flexible entrepreneur.
27
:I am a creative money maker who
builds income streams that work with
28
:my family's rhythm, not against it.
29
:My unique skills and talents
generate wealth that supports
30
:our homeschool lifestyle.
31
:I am both an excellent parent
and a successful income creator.
32
:This affirmation is essential because it
challenges the toxic hustle culture that
33
:says success requires family sacrifice.
34
:When you believe you can create
income that flows with your family
35
:rhythm, you design a business that
enhances your homeschool rather than.
36
:Competing with it, creating sustainable
wealth and income generation
37
:that grows alongside your family.
38
:I am a flexible entrepreneur.
39
:I am a creative money maker who
builds income streams that work with
40
:my family's rhythm, not against it.
41
:My unique skills and talents
generate wealth that supports
42
:our homeschool lifestyle.
43
:I am both an excellent parent
and a successful income creator.
44
:We've talked before about how when we
were younger, we owned a business that
45
:allowed us to work from home, not at
home, and we ended up having to learn
46
:the difference between those two words.
47
:Working from home means your office
is there, but you leave the house to
48
:meet clients and complete major parts
of your work away from your home.
49
:That can include lots of travel.
50
:Working at home means you
don't have to leave the house.
51
:That is what we were actually
in trying to do, but we didn't
52
:understand the difference.
53
:There was one moment that I
remember really set it in our head.
54
:At the time we lived in Indiana
where there was snow every winter.
55
:We don't get a lot of snow here in Texas.
56
:But at that time, we'd always get snow In
the first winter that we made the switch
57
:from working from home to at home, we
were standing upstairs, looking outside
58
:in the morning where it had snowed and
shut everything down the night before.
59
:And we looked out into the driveways
and we noticed the only driveway
60
:that hadn't been shoveled and
didn't have any footprints was ours.
61
:Every house on the block had been
shoveled, had people out there trying to
62
:clear it out, had cars trying to get out,
and it was just a lot of people trying
63
:to figure out how to make it work with
this shutdown from the ice and the snow.
64
:And we were standing upstairs looking
out our window drinking hot chocolate.
65
:It's still about to work, still
bringing in income, and yet we
66
:were warm and comfortable and
didn't have to worry about it.
67
:Yeah.
68
:And because we had international clients,
we didn't even have to worry about any of
69
:our clients being affected by the snow.
70
:Yeah.
71
:And so.
72
:At that moment, that's when it really like
sunk in that working at home is different.
73
:And we knew that one day when we
had kids, we had to make sure that
74
:our business was based on being
at home and not working from home.
75
:so let's repeat that affirmation again.
76
:I am a flexible entrepreneur.
77
:I am a creative moneymaker
who builds income streams that
78
:work with my family's rhythm.
79
:Not against it.
80
:My unique skills and talents
generate wealth that supports
81
:our homeschool lifestyle.
82
:I am both an excellent parent
and a successful income creator.
83
:The biggest block is believing you
need to work like everyone else
84
:to make money like everyone else.
85
:Many homeschool parents think they
have to choose traditional business
86
:models that don't fit their lifestyle,
leading to frustration and giving
87
:up on wealth building altogether.
88

the show, and please share this
92
:episode with a friend, your
co-op, or anyone who needs it.
93
:They'll be glad you did.
94
:Now, back to the show.
95
:That's one thing that you really help
a lot of people with in our business
96
:is a lot of people are either coming
from a corporate career if they're
97
:starting something or they're coming
from a business where they have been
98
:an expert for maybe, you know, 15, 20,
30 years, and now they're looking to.
99
:Diversify their income by packaging up
their expertise and being able to share
100
:it with other people through teaching,
coaching, or publishing digital courses.
101
:Yeah, things of that nature.
102
:And you've been an expert at doing
that for the last two decades.
103
:And so by being able to
be an expert in a topic.
104
:They are able to package up that
information and create income
105
:that lets 'em go into retirement.
106
:And many times people have worked so hard
in their careers that they think they're
107
:gonna be okay in re retirement, and then
they hit a certain age and they're like.
108
:I was very excited about basically
being, being on the tools, you know?
109
:Yeah.
110
:Standing behind the people, you know,
being the dentist, being the lawyer,
111
:being the doctor, you know, having the,
the pest control business or whatever
112
:it's been that they've been doing.
113
:And they're getting tired.
114
:Yeah.
115
:Getting older.
116
:Yeah.
117
:And they're like, I still have a
passion for the industry that I'm in.
118
:But I need to do it in a different way.
119
:Like now I have kids and now
I wanna be there for my kids.
120
:I can't be traveling all the time and
I can't be at all these meetings and I
121
:can't have to be commuting across town.
122
:And so when people are looking for that
flexibility, that's whenever they end up
123
:coming to you looking for ways to do that.
124
:And you've been able to do
that before social media.
125
:Whenever it was just direct mail
and whenever it was in person,
126
:everything, and being able to help
people do that from o offline to
127
:online, it always has been the same.
128
:People need flexibility.
129
:People need to be with their families
because kids really want to see you.
130
:They don't care that you.
131
:Are, are, are paying the bills,
even though that's like the
132
:most important thing we tell
our kids, Hey, we gotta work.
133
:So we keep this, you know, the lights
on and the roof over your head,
134
:but they still want to see you.
135
:And so being a flexible entrepreneur
means you have to be smart about what
136
:opportunities you sign up for and you
really have to be serious about, hey.
137
:This may be a wonderful opportunity
in front of me, but is it going
138
:to violate my family values of
actually physically being together?
139
:Not, you know, could be together,
but look at your actual result.
140
:Are we sitting across from each
other eating dinner together?
141
:Because when our old business.
142
:I would be in the office and you
would be out training employees
143
:and doing things like that.
144
:And yes, we are working together,
but we're not actually together.
145
:Yeah.
146
:Now we actually get to be together.
147
:Yeah.
148
:And so I think a lot of families end up
missing out on that because they don't
149
:realize you have to draw a line in that.
150
:So that's our vocabulary lesson
that we always tell other
151
:families at home versus from home.
152
:Watch the fine print.
153
:That's right.
154
:That's right.
155
:So let's repeat the affirmation
one more time Today.
156
:I am a flexible entrepreneur.
157
:I am a creative moneymaker who builds
income streams that work with my
158
:family's rhythm, not against it.
159
:My unique skills and talents
generate wealth that supports
160
:our homeschool lifestyle.
161
:I am both an excellent parent
and a successful income creator.
162
:And another thing that parents.
163
:Forget that they could do is
they could involve their kids.
164
:They could become, they could build,
they can build businesses that allow
165
:their kids to be able to be around.
166
:They can build businesses and industries
where it's okay that kids are present.
167
:They can do businesses where.
168
:It's okay that it's maybe seasonal and
then they just have to manage their money.
169
:They don't necessarily
need to work all year.
170
:They could increase their income and
provide more money for the family
171
:budget by just working the Christmas
season or just working the summer season
172
:or just working during the spring.
173
:There's lots of business opportunities
that don't actually require you working
174
:all year long, and so you see that during.
175
:A certain time of the year, hey,
the family's gonna be a little
176
:busier because this is when we're
basically storing up for winter.
177
:And so being able to be on one accord
as a family will help you be able
178
:to increase your income with ease.
179
:Everybody knows that during that
income generation season, we're
180
:not gonna be able to do some of the
other activities that we normally do.
181
:I see that a lot of
times when families who.
182
:Take their, their things that they create
and go to festivals and fairs and things.
183
:They will travel around the country
and they will not only get a chance
184
:to travel, but they'll also turn it
into an income opportunity so the kids
185
:get a chance to work the booth and
travel and meet new people and get
186
:some extra educational opportunities.
187
:And the parents make extra
income, but they don't
188
:necessarily do that all year long.
189
:They do that just during that season.
190
:That's good.
191
:Really good.
192
:So let's close with this.
193
:Your homeschool lifestyle
isn't a business limitation.
194
:It's your competitive advantage.
195
:You understand flexibility, creativity.
196
:And working with natural
rhythms better than most.
197
:Entrepreneurs use these skills
to build wealth that fits your
198
:life, not the other way around.
199
